This Thursday the 22nd of April, poets, artists, politicians and academics will gather to share their art and their thoughts surrounding issues raised by the death of Stephen Lawrence, on the anniversary of his death, and in the wake of the Sewell report. Produced by “Say it Louder” and “Stroud Against Racism” the event will be live-streamed on Facebook, and Stroud Love Radio from 6:30 until 9:30 as well as being available in an abbreviated form later, on West Wiltshire Radio on Sunday 25th of April from 16:00 until 18:00.

Hosted by three excellent poets, Sommer Jade, Quinton Green and Rohan Samuel the evening will be a thoughtful and eclectic mix of responses to the anniversary of the young man’s untimely demise. Interwoven with this, the panel will discuss the implications of the Sewell report, and the impact it has had, and will continue to have, on people who suffer from racism in the UK.

The ever-growing line up of guests will see Labour candidate for the Forest of Dean Khady Gueye and Green Party candidate Beki Aldham, spoken word artists including Broken Pen (from TV’s The Voice) and Miss Yankee, and a whole mix of talent including international poets like Red Medusa (as featured in Vogue).

It will be an entertaining, educational, and inspirational evening, and, a fitting tribute to the memory of the late Stephen Lawrence.
