We have been super busy behind the scenes establishing as a community organisation, and teaming up with other organisations.
WALK AND TALK
A local Black artist has facilitiated a monthly walk and talk for those who have experienced or acted against racism, starting on August 30th in Stroud. All are welcome; simply RSVP to kazz@stroudagainstracism.co.uk and to get more information.
PARTNERSHIP WITH LIVES OF COLOUR
We are so excited to be in official partnership with Lives of Colour, and to have the mentorship of Florence Nysamo!
TEAM STRUCTURE
We have confirmed our team structure; Polly Stratton as CEO, Shani Wills as Director of Education, Kazz Hollick as Creative Director and Eden Kingston as Youth Coordinator. We also have a number of professional consultants who guide and advise us on a regular basis. We have fortnightly meetings that are chaired, and minutes are taken.

ECOTRICITY BANNER
Thank you to all those who contributed to the banner! The design is now being finalised and will be installed in September : we can’t wait to see our flag flying!
ANTI-RACISM EDUCATION
The SAR library is growing substantially and we can’t wait to share it with you all. These are donated books which will be made available, and a virtual library will be available soon on our website.
BOOK CLUB
The white and white-presenting members of the SAR admin team are participating in a book circle discussing Me and White Supremacy by Layla Saad. We have organised two other book circles for other members to attend and work through together. If you would like to join, feel free to contact us.
EDUCATION IN SCHOOLS
Our educators are writing medium term plans, and collating resources, based around the current curriculum, which incorporate inclusive history throughout various subjects. These are aimed at primary and secondary level.
T-SHIRTS AND BAGS
We have nearly sold out of the first batch; thank you for your support! We will be producing another run in September, for purchasing online or at the Stroud Stall (which we plan to run monthly). These will also be made available to collect from the Prince Albert in Rodborough; thank you Lotte and Miles!
STROUD STALL
We will be in Stroud town centre on a regular basis with a stall of information and merchandise. This will be manned by SAR members to have conversations with local people who wish to learn more about SAR and the anti-racism movement. Our first stall is on August bank holiday outside the Sub Rooms, and we will have more information about the partnership with Lives of Colour so come and meet us!
SUB ROOMS BANNERS
We have now had 4 submissions for the banners of artwork which will be installed on the Sub Rooms in the coming months, and it’s looking really strong. We have been generously backed by local organisations but we will need to raise the final amount to pay the artists for their hard work. We will be setting up a donation page so that anyone can contribute towards paying the artists and towards this public statement of solidarity.
VOLUNTEERS
We are infinitely grateful to the Facebook admins who volunteer many many hours to keeping the group a safe and educational space for conversation. We now have an impressive team of consultants who are guiding the group and supporting the admin team. If you would like to get involved and support this resource, please get in touch via Facebook.
MEMBERSHIP
Membership will soon be available for members of the public to become a member of Stroud Against Racism, to support the actions we are taking and contribute towards the running costs of these projects. We appreciate the time our volunteers take on all these projects, and for all this to be sustainable, we will be looking for hard cash to support us.
ADMINISTRATION AND FINANCES
Open Collective are positioned to help little blossoming organisations like us and they’ve agreed to support our banking needs for the interim period! This means we will have transparent records of fundraising and the records will be prepared for the upcoming audit.
